It has been some time since I did any 'serious' drawing and my ability to sketch things quickly has lapsed. I also think that with the improvements of digital cameras on the mobile has made me lazy, even though I LOVE it. The quality these days is amazing. But...
Trying to sketch out something quickly has suffered and my concentration span for looking and focussing has suffered.
Enter Becoming Artist Strong - a great web-site run by Carrie Brummer whose mission is to 'unleash the Inner Artist in ALL of us. She provides great instruction through short 7 or 10-day challenge and heaps of encouragement along the way. I'm on day 5 of her Drawing Drills 7 day challenge and noticing a difference in my attention span and mark-making already.
Practising for at least 15 minutes a day has shown up where I get distracted by daily stuff too. I'm in awe of people who manage to do things DAILY without letting it slip. Weekends tend to be where I get off-track regularly!
When I've completed these drills, I'll post the before and after baseline drawings.
